Bill Bowman, CEO
Bill Bowman has led companies as President or CEO for over 25 years. He is currently the CEO and co-founder of Arete Consulting, a consulting firm offering a virtue based approach to cultivating corporate culture. Bill was Dean of the Busch School of Business from 2016 to 2019. He also currently serves Associate Professor of Management at the School.
Bill has extensive experience with starting, leading and selling corporations. He has served as founder and President of the Core Virtues Group, President and CEO of US Inspect in Chantilly, VA and President of ChildrenFirst Inc. in Boston.
Bill has launched three entrepreneurial ventures. In 1982 he co-founded Spinnaker Software Corporation, one of the nation’s first educational software companies. He also began the operations of Logal Software, Inc., another educational software company where he served as president and which he helped take public in 1996. His third venture was also in the educational field. In 1978 he co-founded The Montrose School, an independent day school for girls in grades six through twelve located in Medfield, Massachusetts, and voted in 2009 as one of Boston Magazine’s Top 10 Private Schools.
Bill also served as a Trustee of the five campuses of the University of Massachusetts in the late ‘80s.
He is an engineering honors graduate of Northwestern University and received an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School. He and his wife have raised nine grown children. They now reside in Washington DC.
Peter Pin, President
Peter Pin is a veteran executive with more than 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry encompassing sales, engineering and business development. He is currently the President and co-founder of Arete Consulting, a consulting firm offering a virtue based approach to cultivating corporate culture. Peter has worked in a variety of roles within the information technology space, covering markets across North America, South America and the Caribbean. Most recently Peter served as Vice President for Verizon Enterprise Solutions in the Public Sector. In this role, he led business development and sales activities in support of all Civilian Agencies across the U.S. federal government and spanning a broad portfolio of services to include intelligent networking, cloud computing, mobile workforce, and cybersecurity solutions.
Over the course of a career that spans more than 30 years, Peter has successfully forged collaborative relationships with leaders from private and public sector organizations in pursuit of their common mission objectives.
He has led his own organizations through multiple corporate transitions and cultural transformations based on the industry and demands of the market. His ability to successfully lead his people and develop strong values-based business units has made him a top performer in both revenue and sales for the past decade.
Peter began his career with Tymnet/MCI in 1988 and was responsible for international territory development and business case analysis for Latin American initiatives. He managed direct sales to U.S.-based multinational accounts across the region. He was also responsible for negotiating with international carriers for expansion of MCI’s global data network infrastructure.
Peter mentors young professionals and veterans on navigating business challenges and reaching their career goals. In addition, through ACP and FourBlock, he has assisted veterans as they transition to civilian life. Peter earned his Masters Degree in International Management from The American Graduate School of International Management and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Organizational Behavior from West Virginia University. He currently teaches in the Business School of Catholic University of America and George Washington University and lectures regularly at Georgetown University. He resides in northern Virginia with his wife and four children.
